Last week, I attended the Dietitians of Canada National Conference in Vancouver, BC and presented preliminary data from our RMI-Family study via an electronic poster (ePoster). As the ePoster was interactive, there was a great outreach with conference attendees. An additional benefit of the ePoster format was the ability it gave to display our research on 3 digital screens simultaneously.
I appreciated the variety of sessions offered throughout the conference; those that were most beneficial to me were presentations from our team members (Geoff Ball and Joanna Zelichowska) on engagement and motivation in pediatric weight management as well as talks by Bill Baker and Dr. Alfred Aziz. Another highlight of the conference was participating in the 5K run/walk.
As a registered dietitian, the conference was personally gratifying as it afforded me the opportunity to network with fellow dietitians conducting research in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics.
